Wow...we are well and truly into carnival time now !!! A great collection of racing stars to run over 1400m for a share of $400,000 at Caulfield.

1 VIEWED Bart Cummings Steven Arnold (7) 59
2 SHOCKING Mark Kavanagh Michael Rodd (9) 59
3 ZIPPING Robert Hickmott Nicholas Hall (8) 59
4 SNIPER'S BULLET Scratched
5 SIRMIONE Bart Cummings Dwayne Dunn (3) 59
6 HEART OF DREAMS Mick Price Craig Newitt (6) 59
7 LITTORIO Nigel Blackiston Craig Williams (5) 59
8 DANZYLUM Robbie Griffiths Matthew Allen (2) 59
9 RAFFAELLO Jim Marconi Steven King (10) 59
10 TYPHOON TRACY Peter G Moody Luke Nolen (1) 57

Early SPORTINGBET markets has TYPHOON TRACY a raging hot favourite at $1.75 in front of HEART OF DREAMS ($4.50), SNIPERS BULLET ($7.50) and RAFFAELLO ($10). The rest are expected to take a run or two to reach their best.

Past winners include, MALDIVIAN (2009), SHINZIG (2008), EL SEGUNDO (2007), ELVSTROEM (2005), LONHRO (2004) and REDOUTES CHOICE (2000). The mighty VO ROGUE won it 3 times in a row from 1988-1990 as did MANIKATO (1979-1981).

Typhoon Tracy is certainly the one to beat but I wouldn't count out some of the other hopes, track condition could play a big part if there is any rain about.

I heard Tracey Bartley on radio this morning and he was very up-beat about the chances of Snipers Bullet. If there is a chink in the Typhoon Tracy armour, this guy will be the one to pounce. After a small let-up after winning G1's in WA in December, I'm thinking he would be the fittest horse in the race.

All that said...Typhoon Tracy is a class act !!

I'd be gob-smacked if Typhoon Tracy didn't win. I actually think Heart Of Dreams is a good lay option around $6 on betfair. smiley

Well as expected Typhoon Tracy was a convincing winner in the end, good first up run by Heart Of Dreams and Sirmione put in an incredible run first up after a year off smiley
